12 NATURAL TIPS FOR BEAUTIFUL HAIR
Hair is considered the mirror of health. Thus, when the luster and density of the hair disappear, this is an expression of a physical or psychological imbalance. Whether it is dandruff, splits, hair loss, brittle hair or lack of shine, it is important at first to investigate the causes of the particular hair problem, in order to take specific measures and consider the appropriate tips.
The most common causes of hair loss include iron deficiency, stress, hormonal disorders, thyroid disorders and malnutrition, but also air pollution, frequent hair washing, aggressive shampoos, permanent waves, hair dyes, etc. However, hair problems often appear in time. Hair loss, for example, occurs regularly many weeks later. This means that if the hair fails, the possible cause can already be several months old. Why does this happen?
As you may know, hair passes through different phases. Firstly, during the anagen phase, the hair would remain relatively healthy on the head for several years, being nourished by its roots. At the end of its natural life, it enters the telogen phase, in which the hair roots separate from the hairs, which are now no longer supplied by nutrients, but still remain about three more months on the head, before they finally begin to fall off.
We present you 12 tips for beautiful hair whether youíre concerned with possible causes for hair loss, or other hair problems, such as dull or brittle hair, quickly to become greasy hair, dandruff or even very thin hair.
Tip 1: Vitamin A For Strong Hair
The fat-soluble vitamin A or retinol ensures that the hair appears strong and not greasy. It stimulates the hair growth and benefits the fat synthesis in the follicles. Vitamin A can be found in eggs. The precursor of vitamin A - Beta Carotene - is found in many vegetables and fruits, such as green cabbage, spinach, honey melons, carrots, peppers, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, etc.
If you do not have time to prepare vegetables and salads, then use a powder with high carotene content, such as nettle leaf powder, parsley leaf powder, spinach powder, broccoli powder, grasping powder (e.g. barley grass) or a green superfood mixture (e.g. Green Superfood). Mixing the green powder into a glass of carrot juice provides additional beta-carotene.
Tip 2: Vitamins Of The B Complex Strengthen The Hair
And also support the beauty of the hair. In their entirety, these vitamins stimulate the activity of the sebaceous glands as well as essential metabolic processes in the hair roots. They also prevent inflammation and ensure a healthy scalp. Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, helps especially with thin and brittle hair and even works against hair loss. Biotin is contained in yeast flakes, egg yolks, soybeans, oat flakes, walnuts, and mushrooms.
The most important vitamin B suppliers include nuts, whole grain products, pod fruits and oil seeds (e.g. pumpkin or chia seeds). If you are not sure if your diet contains enough B vitamins, you can take vitamin B complex supplements or simply try increasing the foods that are rich in vitamin B.
Tip 3: Vitamin C Increases Hair Health
Vitamin C is water-soluble and is known to do plenty of good to the human hair. Itís commonly found in most citrus fruits and peppers or broccoli. The South American Camu Camu fruit contains a recordable amount of vitamin C, about 30 to 50 times more than oranges. Other exotic sources are Acerola cherry powder and Buckthorn juice. Vitamin C supports the binding of iron to the red blood cells and helps the hair roots to be better supplied with iron and oxygen.
Tip 4: Iron Prevents Hair Loss
Iron is essential for healthy hair growth. The element ensures oxygen transport within blood, the energy supply of the cells and the production of different proteins. Iron is sometimes found in green leafy vegetables (e.g. spinach, chard or green cabbage), in dried fruits (apricots and dates) or berries (e.g. goji berries, black and redcurrants or raspberries). Goji berries, in particular, can be easily integrated into diets as food supplements. Just 50 grams provide about 6 mg of iron and are sufficient to cover half of the male daily required intake of iron. Women need a little more iron, especially during pregnancy.
Tip 5: Copper Gives The Hair Power
Copper improves the hair structure. This element facilitates the absorption of iron from food and is involved in the construction of skin, bones, and hair. Natural copper suppliers are grain products, sunflower seeds, legumes (especially chickpeas and soya products), nuts and cocoa products.
The daily requirement for an adult is 1.0 to 1.5 mg and can already be covered with 50 g of cashews or 40 g of chickpeas (e.g. in the form of hummus).
Tip 6: Zinc Promotes Hair Growth
Zinc is an excellent mineral that sustains hair growth. It activates numerous enzymes, from which the skin, the hair, and fingernails benefit. Zinc protects the hair roots from inflammation and keeps the scalp clean. Itís commonly found in shrimp, nuts, corn and eggs. The leaders in zinc are pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, and linseed. The daily requirement is 7 to 10 mg and would be reached with 100 g pumpkin seeds.
Tip 7: Silicon Improves Overall Hair Quality
Silicon is an important building substance for hair, nails, and connective tissue. Organic silicon constructs and stabilizes bones and connective tissue. Millet, oats, and barley are good sources of silicon. Additionally, silicon-rich medicinal plants help you increase the amount of overall silicon in the body. Bamboo has over 70% silicon in its composition but letís not forget horsetail and nettles.
If you suspect a silicon deficiency (which is usually the case with unsightly hair), consider upping your intake at around 70mg of silicon a day but of course, consult your doctor first.
Tip 8: Meat Favors Hair Problems
If your hair is currently in a rather deplorable state and you tend to consume lots of fatty meats or fatty cheese, please reconsider your diet. Japanese researchers found that hair loss can be associated with increased sebum production and since animal fats contribute directly to an increased production of hormones, frequent consumption can lead to too much sebum being released by the influenced glands.
Tip 9: Saw Palmetto Against Hair Loss
The fruits of the Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) are used medicinally. They are sometimes used to treat hair loss. An investigation made by The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine has shown that daily consumption of saw palmetto in various dishes can positively influence hair growth.
The fruits of the saw palmetto inhibit the dihydrotestosterone, a derivative of the hormone testosterone, which makes the hair thin and fragile. Saw palms are available in the form of food supplements (e.g. prostate forte), which have a beneficial effect not only on the hair, but also on the prostate or, in the case of women, on the bladder and the urinary tract.
Tip 10: MSM Stimulates Hair Growth
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), also known as dimethyl sulfone, supports the production of keratin and thus strengthens the hair follicles. MSM is an organic sulfur compound, which is important for the sulfur content in the body. Sulfur is an essential component of the immune system, connective tissue, skin, and hair.
Keratins are water-insoluble fiber proteins and the main component of hair, finger and toe nails. The body needs to form keratin so that the hairs stay strong and nourished. In one study, all patients were able to reduce hair loss and stimulate hair growth within six weeks after taking MSM in the form of tablets or capsules.
Tip 11: Medicinal Plants For Beautiful And Healthy Hair
There are many medicinal plants, such as nettle, nasturtium, ginger or rosemary, which you can use to promote healthy hair. These medicinal plants can be massaged into the scalp in the form of a tincture. Or you can boil them into a tea to drink but also use as a natural hair rinse. A hair rinse with chamomile tea is, for example, a tried and tested home remedy for greasy hair.
The chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is characterized by soothing properties. The medicinal plant can also have this effect when applied to the scalp, since it reduces sebum production. For this rinsing to have its full effect, you should use it once every week. Heat about one liter of water and let in four bags of chamomile tea for 10 minutes. After the chamomile tea is cooled, you can use it as a rinse after the actual hair wash.
Tip 12: Vitamin Oil Pack For Stressed Hair
If the hair is damaged due to external influences (e.g. cosmetics) and lost the luster, the following vitamin oil pack can breathe new life into it. The ingredients are biotin, provitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin K, folic acid, which regenerate the scalp and bring the hair back to shine.
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon rose hip oil, one organic egg yolk, Ĺ banana, one teaspoon of carotene oil (a sunflower or soybean oil with carotene or carrot extract), five drops of essential lemon oil.
Preparation / Application: Crush the banana with the fork and stir the remaining ingredients. Then apply the pack on dry hair and wrap your head with foil. Leave the hair cream for 1-2 hours and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. If you have very long hair, you can double the ingredients.
Aside from the rosehip kernel oil or carotene oil mentioned in the recipe, there are other valuable oil substitutes such as olive oil, coconut oil or argan oil.
